For approximately two years, Madera Baptist Church had been seeking a pastor. In 2002, while serving as an associate pastor at Santa Clarita Baptist Church, I was asked to fill the pulpit. At the time I received the call, I had no idea where Madera was.

I was later contacted by the church to see if I would be willing to candidate as the pastor. Having no intentions of leaving the Santa Clarita Valley, where I had lived for 40 years, my wife Linda and I prayed and felt the Lord's call to come.

We have been ministering here for 22 years, and it has been the joy of our lives. God is truly good! Isaiah 55:8 says, "'For My thoughts are not your thoughts nor are your ways My ways, says the Lord.'"
